      Question and Answer

      ABOUT INOV-8

Which are your go-to inov-8 shoes?
My Trail Talon 290s are always in my car ready for any adventure, any terrain, anytime. A very diverse shoe I've used in training and racing from speed workouts to ultra distance races like K-Way SkyRun.

What is your favourite piece of inov-8 gear?

Probably my hydration pack purely because I can carry everything I need where ever I choose to run. Like running home from a car service.

What’s the one thing you think that people don’t know about the inov-8 brand?

How diverse the inov-8 shoes and technical apparel are. The details in the shoes like gator hooks, the arrows indicating the heel to toe drop and all the details in the apparel that you only really appreciate when they are put to the test in tough conditions. Comfort it key and every detail helps.

      A BIT MORE ABOUT YOU!

If you weren’t running or doing OCR, what other sport would you have done?

I played cricket and soccer back in my school days. I was really serious (so I thought) about cricket until my love for running took over.

When did you get into Running?

I grew up watching my parents race Comrades on TV so I was always exposed to running and the lifestyle. I started cross country and athletics in primary school. I did my first social OCR event in 2014.

Can you remember your first race?

My first cross country race I just remembering suffering and wondering how on earth the other boys ran so fast… then I started training.

Tell us about your Monday mornings - what do they look like for you?

Mondays set up my week. 5am wake up with a nice cup of black coffee while the house is calm and quiet. This is the time I get to myself and gather my thoughts before I head out for an easy run.

Running first thing in the morning aligns my thoughts for the day and boosts my overall focus and energy for the day. Quick shower and have breakfast with the family before I take my little boy to school on my way to work.

What is your ultimate/dream outdoor-adventure trip?
A trail or OCR racing weekend away with my family racing in the mountains.
If you had to eat one thing for every meal going forward, what would you eat?
Homemade blueberry  flapjacks, with yogurt and maple syrup.
Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
      I’m pretty good at pool/snooker.

If you were stranded on a tropical island what 2 things would you want with you?
My running shoes and a fishing rod.

If you could have an unlimited storage of one thing, what would it be?

      Nut butter.

      Biggest pet peeve?

When people have dirty shoes (except for when on the trails).
